† Advertised speeds are based on the average experienced by at least 50% of a provider’s customer base during peak hours. The information about each average speed comes from each provider. Broadband speed can be affected by various factors, such as location, so getting in touch with your provider could offer more accurate information beyond the average speeds in our comparison table. For more information, you can read our guide about the changes to advertising broadband speeds.
Our comparison service is designed to help you find a great broadband deal, but you should always look carefully into each product before you purchase. Take your time choosing as the contracted plans are a long-term financial commitment.
Filter and re-order the deals to suit your preferences. You can show the fastest average speeds first, or the cheapest deals, and we’ll also highlight other key information like contract length and upfront cost. See the ‘cost breakdown’ of each deal for a breakdown and total projection of cost.
The monthly costs we display are inclusive of line rental and VAT.
We only display products that include line rental to make product and pricing comparisons clearer for our users.
We use postcode information to show availability of Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) broadband, which checks that both the exchange and street cabinet are enabled. However, it is not guaranteed that the property is enabled for FTTC, as other factors such as distance from the street cabinet can impact speeds. This should only be used as a guide and subject to a provider line check. We will not use your postcode for any reason, other than to check broadband availability for you.
We select our featured deals so that they include both the cheapest and most expensive options, as well as a mid-range offer.
We show deals containing combinations of broadband, digital tv and phone. We do not show phone only deals and upgrade deals are only available on the specific providers page.
We do not include legacy tariffs on this site.
Due to the extensive call and add-on options available to many broadband products we have chosen to condense the list of products available on our site to the most popular products. This avoids flooding the comparison tables and making it difficult for users to find a suitable product. You can find more information on the full extent of options available for a product by clicking through to the providers landing page.
There is no secondary sorting function on this site, so if two or more products have an equal value they will appear in a random order in the comparison tables.
For more information on our site and how our comparison tables work, please visit our About Us page.
If you do not pay by direct debit then there may be additional charges. There may also be an additional charge for installing a new landline, should you need one, and we do not feature this cost.
We do not include the cost of out-of-bundle charges, such as data used outside of an allowance. We also do not include the value of incentives such as gift cards or cashback.
At peak times you may find your broadband speed is slower. Some providers use traffic management and/or fair usage policies. You can read our guide to traffic management for more information.
Should your provider increase the price mid-contract without it being clearly stated at the time of purchase, you should be free to cancel or switch the service without penalty.
If you wish to make a complaint about a provider displayed on our website then we have compiled a list of provider contact and complaint details.
If you would like to make a complaint about Broadband Compared then please get in touch and follow our complaints procedure.
If you think any of the information we display on current broadband deals is incorrect or out of date then please get in touch.
Aiming to improve broadband in rural areas around the UK, Gigaclear is working on bringing its superfast broadband offers to as many locations as possible. Linksys (the router used by Gigaclear) has reinvented the wheel when it comes to traditional WiFi routers, with the option to add additional nodes to provide faster and stronger coverage throughout the entire house.
Gigaclear offers a range of up to four business broadband products: Business 100, Business 250, Business 500 and Business ULTRA. All these broadband business deals from Gigaclear have download speeds of 100Mbps, 250Mbps, 500Mbps and 900Mbps respectively. All deals are 24 month contracts, with customer phone support available between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday.
Traditional WiFi routers have limited range and people often suffer with drop outs or slower speeds further from their router, and when extenders are added into the mix, speeds frequently slow down. With a lot of help from the Linksys router and its family of connected nodes, Gigaclear is able to offer ultrafast performance that's able to support streaming on multiple devices across further distances, which is an absolute must in this day and age.
Gigaclear is working hard to bring their superfast fibre to more areas throughout the UK, with networks currently spanning across over 200 communities. Gigaclear prioritise the areas where demand for faster broadband is high, as there is a huge need for improved speeds in more rural areas. Prior to community-installation, Gigaclear will assess the type of equipment needed in order to do as much of an efficient job as possible, aiming to cause as little disruption as possible.
We've already spoken about the Linksys router a little bit, but as it's at the centre of what Gigaclear has to offer, we thought we'd give you a bit more information on each package and what they include.
The Linksys router is the cornerstone of Gigaclear's Smart WiFi, with an app that allows you to swiftly configure and manage your very own network.
Gigaclear's Superfast 30 and Ultrafast 100 come with the standard Linksys router. The slightly more expensive subscriptions Gigaclear has to offer, Ultrafast 300 and Hyperfast 900, come powered by Gigaclear's Smart WiFi, with an extra node for your Linksys router to improve range using Mesh technology. See the average broadband speed for each package below:
Gigaclear plans to provide reliable access to the internet to all, homes and businesses alike. Even as Gigaclear provides the best speeds available to over 65,000 rural homes in over 200 communities, the company won't relent on its growth. With the goal to build and operate the UK's largest fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network, Gigaclear will be a force to be reckoned with in the broadband market if they can deliver on their word, providing 24/7 customer service to go with their exceptional product.
The 2020 ISPA Awards have named Gigaclear as the UK's Best Rural Broadband Provider, acknowledging both the service they provide, the obstacles they have had to overcome in the process and the partnership with Linksys, the leaders on wireless connectivity that power Gigaclear's WiFi.
Here's what Gareth Williams, CEO of Gigaclear, had to say:
Gareth Williams, CEO of Gigaclear, says, “These awards are like the Oscars of UK broadband and it means so much to us all to be acknowledged for our work undertaking one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the country to connect people who have essentially been failed by the market and left behind with dial-up equivalent internet speeds."
“I think everyone can appreciate how much more miserable and mentally challenging this pandemic would have been if we weren’t able to continue working from home, or stay in contact with friends and family via video calling apps, or keep ourselves entertained with streaming services and our children’s education on track with online learning resources. Unfortunately, there are still communities in rural areas that do not have access to those things. We’re working to reach them if we can.”
