Currently, both Brighton and Hove are in the running to receive superfast broadband funding as part of the second round of the government rollout. Due the nature of its digital economy, a stable broadband network in Brighton is essential for both standard residents and businesses.

Parts of Hove are also strong in this aspect, with many residential areas seeing improvements in broadband.

Whilst there are some areas of the city which may experience lesser coverage, (such as Bevendean, Hollingbury and Preston) these are generally rare. Properties on the outskirts of the city also don’t have to suffer poor connections, as Brighton’s network reaches beyond just the city centre.

Finding the cheapest and best broadband package for you is easy in Brighton, as all the major UK providers have services in the city. Customers can choose from ISPs such as BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and Sky.

Overall, Virgin Media has been found to be the fastest in the area, with customer potentially running speeds of up to 25Mb. This is due to Virgin’s superior fibre-optic service, which brings cables directly to the property. Other providers do however offer fibre-optic services which come close to matching Virgin’s speed.
